Internship Programme

RSIGST or IIGST is offering an Internship Programme for the Graduate, Postgraduate Students and Research Scholars from any recognised university or institute. The details of this internship programme are as follows:

Purpose: To allow short term exposure of “selected candidates ” with the different Verticals of RSIGST or IIGST along with the guidance on Research Methodology.

Duration of Internship: Min.3 – 6 Months

Mode of Internship: Online/Offline

Domains of Internship: GIS & Remote Sensing 

Probable Activities Included: i. Interns have to join in all kinds of academic activities organised by RSIGST. ii. RSIGST will help them to learn research methodology, guide them to prepare research papers and its publication. iii. They have to take part in our Workshops, Conference, Seminar, Webinar, Project works etc. (related to their domain area) during their internship periods.

Seat Capacity: 10 – 20 

Financial Norms: It’s a non-paid Internship programme. RSIGST will not provide any monthly remuneration or financial support to the interns but they have to give separate application fees if they want to learn any of short term courses conducted by RSIGST during their internship periods.

Eligibility: The students who have appeared in the final exam or just completed Graduation/PG and waiting for admission for higher studies may also be considered for internship provided that they have to secured at least 50% or more cumulative marks in all the years/ semesters of their graduation/ post-graduation till the date of application.

Certificate: Certificate will be issued on behalf of RSIGST after successful completion of his or her internship.

Logistics & Support: Interns will be required to have their own laptops and other electronic gadgets. Outstations candidates have to arrange their own accommodation, refreshments, expenditure for field visits etc. on their own. This policy is applicable only for the offline internship programme. 

Procedure and Conditions for Applicants: 

i. Interested candidates have to apply for internship programme through proper channel. Before applying they need to take a NOC (either by mail or in letterhead) from the HOD of their concerned department and have to attach it either in the scan, photocopy or in screenshot format. 

ii. Applicants have to clearly mention the area of his/her interest in the application. 

iii. While doing an internship in RSIGST, candidates have to show their weekly progress reports to the concerned authority. 

iv. Depending upon the number of applications received against a particular domain/area, RSIGST will reserve the right to fix up the eligibility criteria, limit the number of applicants to be called for a particular period and to decide about the mode of screening thereof. 

v. Interns have to produce a brief report/paper at the end of their assignment to the concerned heads of the concerned Verticals about their learning experience. 

vi. During the internship they have to strictly follow the rules and regulations of RSIGST and have to maintain dignity.

Scheme Review: RSIGST reserves the right to review the scheme at any time. The Scheme so reviewed will be placed on the website of RSIGST. 

Relaxation: Chairman, RSIGST have all the powers to relax any of the conditions mentioned above.
