ABOUT IIGST

International Institute of Geospatial Science and Technology (IIGST), formerly known as Centre for Applied Geoinformatics and a constituent unit of SAIARD, an ISO 9001:2015 & NITI Aayog (Unique ID- WB/2019/0237959), Govt of India, registered premier academic cum research institution, formed in Kolkata under the Trustee Registration Act (Reg. No- 163000060, 2019; UAM No- WB10E0019172 ) of Govt. of India.
IIGST has formed under SAIARD with a motto to spread the arena of geospatial technology and its applications through education, research, training and capacity building, research, advocacy and innovative ideas through publication, various outreach programmes, collaborations and partnerships for sustainable and cognitive development of this region as well as to provide skill-based education to the students and make them employable and strengthening the hands of both public and private sectors by providing all-round supports in Southeast Asia. Since its formation SAIARD has continuously engaged with lots of academic and capacity building programmes and now considering the growing importance of geospatial field SAIARD has decided to develop a separate platform which will be a dedicated platform in both geospatial and emerging technologies. Therefore, the academic platforms of IIGST are designed in such a way as that it can meet the requirements of working professionals, academicians, researchers, planners and decision makers.
To widen its outreach, IIGST has taken various initiatives like starting skill based courses both in PG Diploma and Certificate format on various aspect of Geoinformatics, etc. training and capacity building programmes, conferences etc. both in physical and e-learning mode in collaboration with different academic and non-academic institutions both at national and international level. Along with that as the basic motto of this institution is to support the all round development of our future generations to make them skilled and employable along with that to strengthen the hands of both public and private sectors, so, since its inception, IIGST has taken a community & policy-based based approach through the intervention of this geospatial technology for the betterment of society and humanity.

Our constitution
IIGST is an autonomous academic and research entity under the aegis of SAIARD
IIGST has the provision to conduct any Certificate, PG Diploma or capacity building and outreach programmes at its own and can provide certificates also
Institutions collaborating with SAIARD through MOU, can automatically be a part of IIGST
IIGST members should commit to work to fulfill the vision and work together for keep intact the integrity of IIGST
The member should sit together at least two times per month to decide the work plan and future strategy of IIGST
The members should take any initiative to collaborate with National and International organisations or Government bodies with the consent of the board members headed by the Chairperson
The members should take any kind of initiatives for developing new proposals and bring new projects which will in long run strength its base
Members should not involve any profitable entity by using the name of IIGST
Members should join any venture or agreement with the consent of the Chairperson and the Managing Council
Any administrative and financial decisions should be materialized with the approval and consent of the Managing Council. Whereas chairperson is the prime authority to take any decisions for IIGST
All collaborations, letter of agreements should approved by the Managing Council and the Chairperson
The members has all right to bring any new proposal to IIGST and represent this institution in any national and international event
The members will take lead as per their specialisation if they win any International or National assignment and project with their initiatives and efforts
The member should do some time voluntary works and technical support to IIGST if required in case of emergencies or needs prevail
IIGST is a secular, eco-friendly and gender sensitive organization, so everybody should abide the rules and regulations to built IIGST as a Centre of Excellence
